Family Fun

Just a couple pictures of some family gatherings from this month...

Peyton is 1 month old!

Peyton is a month old...it's amazing how quickly a month goes by...

She smiles at us all the time now, she's pushing herself up during tummy time, she even looks around when we're holding her...it's amazing how strong she is!

Olegbay Zoo

Grandma Folger took Karen, Liam and Peyton to Olegbay Zoo for the afternoon (with the hopes that while we were in Wheeling the car dealership would call and say Karen's car was ready...which they did just as we were leaving the zoo!)

Liam loved being able to get so close to the ducks...they just let him walk right up to them!

Liam was very concerned that one turtle didn't have a spot on the log...

While riding the train we went through the zebra and ostrich habitat.

Liam's second favorite part of the zoo...when he wasn't riding the big train, he wanted to be inside watching the little trains.

Karen, Liam, and Peyton decided to escape the triple digit weather in DC and head to WV for the 4th! So with Grandma in tow we headed over the mountains. Unfortunately, 2 hours into the trip the air conditioning in Karen's car broke...so the rest of the trip (all 6 hours) was spent with windows cracked on the interstate, Peyton crying, and Grandma and Karen melting. We had to stop about every hour to get Peyton out of her seat, cool her down, feed her, etc....Liam was such a trooper! He napped, read books, drew pictures, and watched a movie without a complaint. Needless to say we ended up staying in WV a little longer than originally anticipated....some believe that Grandma tampered with the AC or bribed the dealership to back order the part for Karen's car to accomplish this... :-) we were just happy we got some extra time with them!

Karen's friend Adriana and her husband Andy stopped by to visit with us, give Peyton some fashionista clothing, and have lunch. We always have such a great time with them! Liam loves playing with Andy and his Auntie AJ!

Grandma's little helper

While Grandma visited with us the week after Peyton was born, Liam and Grandma worked outside on the landscaping around the deck...Liam loved shoveling the dirt and picking up worms. The shrubs and plants around the deck look great thanks to Grandma and her little helper.
