The 4 Maries

Marie Catney (Great Grandma), Colleen Marie (Grandma),
Julie Marie (Mom), Hannah Marie (baby)

Easter dinner

We had Easter dinner in Canonsburg, PA. Karen's cousin Susan and her husband Gary hosted the festivities at their house.

We had a delicious meal and spent some quality time with the family. Everyone played pass the babies before, during and after dinner. (OK...so maybe just us girls played pass the babies...the boys were a little too preoccupied with the NCAA tournament and watching WVU win).

A family tradition at these Easter dinners is taking a big group photo. We were only missing Julie's husband Jon (who stayed at home to hold down the couch and make sure no one stole the remote).

Proud Granparents

Folger kids...plus two

It's too bad all of us live so far apart from each other...we're going to make Grandma Folger go gray with all the traveling she needs to do to see her kids and now her grandkids. Grandpap Folger is certain that she's going to make him sell the farm, buy and RV and spend all their time driving between Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York.
Anyways, we all had a great time with each other while at Julie's house. Uncle Daniel got to meet his neice for the first time and commented on how Liam was that size when he first met him (way back in January). How the time flys...

Liam meets his cousin Hannah

It's hard to believe that these two are just 11 days apart. It was so great getting to see our niece for the first time. Liam enjoyed his time with his cousin too...although she did bop him in the nose a few times (she's quite the mover and the shaker).

Great Grandma Marie

4 generations

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The Liam Road Show

Well we're home...we survived our first road trip with Liam. Last week we went to Pennsylvania and Ohio to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Easter, visit and introduce our beautiful boy to his extended family.

At our first stop was Pennsylvania...we introduced Liam to his Great Grandma Marie, Great Aunt Patty and Great Uncle John (Karen's aunt and uncle), "Aunt" JoJo (aka cousin Susan), "Uncle" Michael (aka cousin Michael, Great Great Aunt Eleanor, and Great Great Uncle Ray. Grandma and Grandpa Folger came up from West Virginia to see Liam and take some St. Patrick's Day pictures and 4 generations pictures.

Our second stop was Ohio where Liam met his cousin Hannah, Aunt Julie and Uncle Jon. He also got to see his Grandma and Grandpa Folger and Uncle Daniel. It is amazing seeing Liam and his cousin Hannah (born only 11 days apart) side by side. The difference between a preemie and a child born full term at 2 months old is crazy.

Our final stop was back in Pennsylvania to have Easter dinner with Karen's whole family and then a quick stop-over at Great Aunt Donna and Great Uncle John's house (Brian's aunt and uncle).

We had a great time getting to visit with everyone. It was really wonderful spending time with family (even if we had to do a lot of travelling to do it). We want to thank everyone that let us crash at their house, fed us amazing meals, let us come over to their house with a baby in tow, and hunted down baby gear so we didn't have to cart everything from state to state.

Liam's babysitter

Liam spent some time with his first babysitter today (well...his first babysitter that isn't a grandparent). He had a great time with his Auntie AJ. He showed off his winning smile to Adriana and her mom (who stopped by later to see him).

Liam is 2 months old!

Our little boy is growing up so fast! He had his 2 month check up at the doctor's and weighed in at 11 pounds 2 ounces! He's getting so big, we can't believe how fast the time has gone by since we brought him home from the hospital. He is holding his head up during tummy time and any time you hold him on your shoulder, he smiles and coos at his mom and dad all of the time (he's such a happy baby), and he follows us (and Bogart) with his eyes when we walk around his crib.

too cute!

more visitors

We have had quite a few visitors recently...however, Karen has been really bad about remembering to take pictures while the visitors are here. So, unfortunately we only have pictures of two of our visitors with Liam. Phaneth and Scott Riley came for a visit last weekend, Justin Cahill and his son Owen came for a visit last night, and Michelle Maiwurm came for a visit today. Liam had a great time with all of our visitors (he slept like a champ while all of them were here).

Bogart and Liam

Bogart and Liam have been getting along really well. Liam really doesn't notice Bogart is there (unless Bogart is barking at noises outside). Bogart definitely knows Liam is around. He wants to be as close to him as possible (his philosophy seems to be "if I'm close to the baby maybe some of the attention that he's getting will rub off on me"). He also does not like it when Liam is crying. Bogart barks or runs to get Brian or Karen when he hears him crying.

spoiled

Liam has finally gotten used to not being held all day every day. His grandparents did a good job of spoiling him while they were here helping Brian and Karen. We all miss having those extra hands around (especially when Liam is extra fussy and just wants held and walked around).

updates

Well things are finally starting to get back to normal around the Cassidy house. Liam is back to his normal adorable and happy self (yeah! no more formula!!!!), Brian is back to work and Karen is back to taking care of her boys. Last week Karen had two doctor's appointments (one to get blood drawn to see if her labs were still elevated and the other with her surgeon). After all of those appointments it was determined that everything is healing just fine and Karen's body is starting to adapt to not having a gall bladder. She was even able to have a cheeseburger last Thursday. :-)
