At home...FINALLY!
We finally made it home! After an extra day at the hospital because of jaundice, we were finally released to go home. Grandma and Grandpa Folger were there to welcome us home (with a clean house, all of our laundry done, projects finished, and Liam's room set up). Bogart doesn't seem to know what to think about Liam yet...all he knows is Liam is getting all of the attention he used to be getting so Bogart is putting himself as close as possible to the baby so he won't miss out on any of the excess attention.

Liam's first hour
Liam Hall Cassidy came into the world at 11:07am on January 10, 2008. He was 19 1/4 inches long and weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces. Shortly after seeing him we knew his name had to be Liam (it just fit with the red tint his hair had these first few moments). We already had his middle name picked out before coming to the hospital (we wanted to give him the same middle name as Brian's stepfather Steve). We are truly blessed to have this sweet little boy in our lives.

January 10, 2008 (I'm in labor!!!)
We had been scheduled for an induction on Friday, January 11th, but our little boy did not want to be "scheduled". He wanted to come in his own time. So, I went into labor Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I started having consistent contractions every hour from 10pm-1:30am. At 1:30 the contractions started to get closer together. At 2am I started timing them to see how far apart they were. When it seemed like they were coming every 5 minutes I woke up Brian to have him time how long they were. At 2:30 we knew our little boy wanted to come now, so we packed up the car, took showers, and moved Bogart downstairs. We got to the hospital at 4am...checked in, got admitted, hooked up to monitors, and around 5:30 they told me I needed to walk around for an hour because my labor wasn't progressing. After that hour of walking, I had gone from 3 cm to 4cm. They immediately moved me to labor and delivery and Brian went out to the car to get our things (and call his mom so she could come get Bogart). By the time Brian came back I had progressed even further and they called my doctor. By the time he got there I was at 7cm. I was progressing so fast that they weren't sure I would be able to get the epidural in time. By the time they showed up to give me the epidural I was having contractions back to back and was 10cm dilated. It was 9:30am at this time...and it looked like our boy could come at any second, however, as soon as they gave it to me...my contractions almost stopped completely. I spent an hour pushing (even though I wasn't having really strong contractions) and every time I got him to move a little bit...he would get pulled back up. (We found out later that his umbilical cord was wrapped around his shoulders and head...this is what was causing him to be pulled back up). A half an hour later we finally got to meet our little boy!
